The Farrah Fawcett Foundation

Today, Alana’s primary role is serving as President and CEO of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2006, Farrah started the Foundation in 2007. She was committed to finding a cure for her cancer and to personally overseeing her foundation.

Unfortunately, things turned out differently, and she passed away on June 25, 2009.

In honoring Farrah’s wishes, the Foundation seeks to fund innovative research specific to HPV-related cancers. Farrah often wondered why there was not more research done on certain types of cancers. The Foundation is proud to have a research team in her name at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

As the Foundation’s president, Alana is dedicated to carrying out Farrah’s mission by funding:

  • Cutting edge research in memory of Farrah’s life and fight to the end
  • Patient assistance funds for those faced with mounting expenses during treatment
  • Prevention programs to help spread the word so the cancer struggle will cease
